Current Position: Dr. Wiley is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University and the Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Emory University Hospital Midtown.

Education: She received her BS from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) and her MD from the University of Alabama School of Medicine (Birmingham). She completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at Emory.

Clinical Interest: Infectious Diseases

Research Interest: Antimicrobial Stewardship, Health Disparities

Awards and Honors: Jonas A. Shulman Teacher of the Year Award (2018-2019) - awarded by the Emory Infectious Diseases fellows to a faculty member for excellence in teaching. Fellow in Hospital Medicine. Emory Department of Medicine Distinguished Physician. Southern Society for Clinical Investigation Fellow. AFMR Southern Society of Clinical Investigators Junior Faculty Research Award Recipient.

Dr. Wiley is an Emory infectious diseases physician and the Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at Emory University Hospital Midtown. She has the unique experience of having worked as an academic hospitalist at Emory for 10 years prior to pursuing a career in infectious diseases. She is a member of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Stewardship and Education Committees and the Infectious Diseases Society of America Medical Education Community of Practice. Dr. Wiley is the joint Principal Investigator on a Woodruff Health Sciences Center COVID-19 Center for Urgent Engagement (CURE) Award assessing Clinical Characteristics, Outcomes, and Social Determinants of Health in Readmitted Hospitalized COVID-19 Patients at Eight Atlanta Hospitals. She is a co-investigator in several Emory clinical trials, including the COVID-19 ACTT studies, and is a co-investigator in the Emory Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit. Dr. Wiley is a member of the Emory Department of Medicine’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council, the Emory Collaborative Community Outreach and Health Disparities Research Initiative, and serves as the physician lead of the Emory Healthcare COVID-19 Treatment Guidance Committee. Her scholarly contributions are published in several journals including Clinical Infectious Diseases, JAMA, The Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, and Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.
