AFMR Henry Christian Awards
These awards were established in 1990 to honor the founder of AFMR, Dr. Henry Christian. Each year, the awards will be given to the presenter (or first author) of the most outstanding abstracts submitted to each of the four AFMR Regional Meetings: the Western Medical Research Conference in Carmel, the Southern Regional Meeting in New Orleans, the Eastern Regional Meeting in Philadelphia, and/or the Midwest Clinical & Translational Research Meeting in Chicago.

Candidates must be physicians who are post-MD trainees, including residents, clinical fellows, physicians pursuing PhDs or other graduate degrees, and other post-doctoral fellows. To qualify for the Henry Christian Award, applicants must be an AFMR member in good standing. You may go online to join AFMR or renew your Membership. Candidates are required to upload a curriculum vitae at time of submission.

WAFMR Young Investigator Award
A young investigator award will be presented by WAFMR for the outstanding abstract submitted by a junior faculty member (instructor or assistant professor level). Candidates for the award must be available the day of presentation at the 2022 Western Medical Research Conference. Candidates are requested to upload the individual’s curriculum vitae, a letter of nomination from their section/division chief or chair attesting to the significance of the work, and a copy of their abstract marked “COPY” by September 24, 2021. This information should be uploaded via the ScholarOne website when you submit your abstract.
