Michael Schivo, MD, MAS
Vice President of Meetings and Programs
Current Position: Dr. Schivo is Assistant Professor of Medicine and Internal Medicine Resident Research Track Director for the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine.
Education: He received medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia Pennsylvania
Clinical Interest: Chronic obstructive lung disease and other related respiratory illnesses
Current AFMR position: Vice President of Meetings and Programs
Dr. Schivo is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California at Davis. He spends 75% of his time conducting research centered on the analysis of exhaled volatile biomarkers for disease detection, and he performs cell culture studies to complement his clinical investigations. Clinically Dr. Schivo is interested in chronic obstructive lung disease and other related respiratory illnesses. He is part of the UC Davis Reversible Obstructive Airway Diseases (ROAD) center where he provides specialty care.
Dr. Schivo received his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He went on to do an internship, residency and fellowship at UC Davis School of Medicine.
Dr. Schivo currently serves on the National Council of the AFMR as Vice President of Meetings and Programs and is the Past-chair of the Western Section of the AFMR. He is excited to continue to serve the society and brings much enthusiasm to his role.
